Chef Keira Moritz is guided by visions. "I dream of food. I dream of the ingredients. I dream about how they're placed on the plate."
Hence the fanatical following for her Kobe beef or tuna carpaccio ("Pacci" is short for the renowned raw beef or tuna appetizers). The enormous rack of lamb and the short ribs place high with locals, as do the Prince Edward Island mussels, sautéed in a succulent corn broth. The popular pasta e risotto section, as well as the house-made charcuterie and artisanal cheeses are welcome complements to your meals too. It is truly the perfect marriage of seasonal Italian cuisine alongside traditional steakhouse classics.
But what gives Pacci its apello - its appeal - is the restaurant itself. The Puccini Group designed the interior to join the masculine feel of the Italian ristorante with elegant refinements like tufted seating, custom-made Mercury glass chandeliers and luxuriant colors. The attention to detail is immediately recognizable and the atmosphere is exceptionally comfortable.
Upstairs is the AltoRex Rooftop Lounge. Derived from the Latin translations of "high" and "king," AltoRex literally caps the restaurant and is a destination in its own right. Paying tribute to local celebrity Kim King, a well-known developer and Georgia Tech football hero, AltoRex is a marvelously open, airy outdoor lounge for passing time, catching up, cooling off and carrying on.
For those times when a more private setting is in order, Pacci offers exceptional catering and event space.
